Dinosaurs, Giraffes, and Elephants, Oh My!
JC was seen by John Fabian, CPO/L in our Sandusky office this week. John fit JC with a TLSO (Thoracic-Lumbar-Sacral Orthosis). If you look closely, you will see his TLSO is thermoplastic with soft interface with an animal transfer, which includes dinosaurs, giraffes, and elephants (which are his mom’s favorite). We employ bright colors and fun patterns for our young patients. JC was also fit with bilateral matching AFOs. Green is his color! He is the happiest little boy, and his sweet mom is happy too.

Kevin R.
A patient of Bill at our Amherst office, Kevin R. is diabetes-related bilateral below the knee amputee. He is fitted with an ALPS liner and the College Park Voyager foot. His prosthesis is comfortable for his work in lawn maintenance. The ALPS liner provides freedom of movement, as well as a safe suspension between his residual limb and prosthesis. The College Park Voyager foot has vertical shock absorption and a responsive spring that help it feel more natural and allow various activity levels.
Jomniel
Congratulations to Jomniel, whose helmet era is over! We offer cranial remolding helmets, or orthoses used to treat head shape deformities like plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly. The helmet helps the head shape improve, providing pockets of space at the flattened areas of the head for the skull to naturally grow into. We have a passion for working with infants and families and prides itself in being the best at cranial remolding in the area.
Hayden
Congratulations to Hayden! Hayden was fitted with a cranial remolding helmet used to treat head shape deformities like plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and scaphocephaly. The helmet provides pockets of space at the flattened areas of the head for the skull to naturally grow into. Hayden’s helmet era is now over!
Kenneth S.
John Fabian’s fitting with below knee amputee Kenneth S. included a locking liner for suspension using the pin method, which connects his prosthesis to his residual limb. He used the Freedom Highlander foot from Proteor.
The Freedom Highlander is suitable for below-the-knee amputees with a long residual limb and has a split toe which provides inversion/eversion when walking on uneven ground.
Craig S.
During the holiday season, we are especially grateful for our veterans. Our patient Craig S., a below knee amputee, is fitted with a locking liner for suspension using the pin method, which connects his prosthesis with his residual limb.
John Fabian, CPO, chose the Elite foot from Blatchford, with a split-toe and lightweight design. The socket of his prosthesis is laminated with a design to remember the fallen soldiers and Marines from past wars, specifically from Vietnam, during which he served.
Tony S.
Tony S. from North Olmsted is a transfemoral amputee but he maintains a very active lifestyle swimming, walking, motorcycle riding, and hiking.
A retired paramedic and EMT, Tony, 64, is a former high school classmate of Bill Leimkuehler.
Bill fit Tony with a prosthetic system featuring elevated vacuum suspension. Components include an Össur Seal-In X TF liner with sealing ring, a microprocessor RHEO Knee, and a RUSH EVAQ8 foot. Tony proudly sports an American flag image on his carbon fiber socket with flexible inner.
Tony enjoys family time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Kevin K.
Soon to be married Kevin K., 46, is a very active below-knee amputee from North Ridgeville.
Working in an auto dealership inspecting cars for repairs and maintenance means Kevin needs a prosthesis that stands up to the job. He was fit with a carbon frame socket with flexible inner, an Össur Comfort locking liner with Bulldog lock and a Freedom Innovations Maverick Extreme Foot.
The Maverick Extreme is made of fiberglass for increased durability and a natural, flexible feel during daily activities and strenuous exercises. Perfect for an amputee like Kevin who enjoys biking, skateboarding, playing the drums, yard work, DIY projects, and activities with his three kids.
