Northeast Ohio Amputee Support Group invites you to gather with people to talk, share stories and ideas, learn, and laugh!

Leimkuehler Orthotic-Prosthetic Center is pleased to be partnering with Freedom Innovations for a day of education. The curriculum is designed to provide Therapists an opportunity to increase their knowledge in the treatment of lower limb amputees of all levels. The program has been approved for 5 Continuing Education credits. The program will include the following topics:
- Introduction to Transtibial Amputees
- Introduction to Transfemoral Amputees
- Physical Therapist’s use of Prosthetic Outcome Measures
- Amputee Gait Training 101: The Mandatory Mechanics of Prosthetic Gait
- Amputee Discussion Panel

Free Walking and Running Clinic – Starting January 8
Leimkuehler Orthotic-Prosthetic Center offers a free amputee walking and running clinic every other month on the second Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at our Amherst location.
The clinics are open to all amputees and their families. All ages and abilities are welcome. The clinic offers a great way to improve mobility, learn basic skills, increase confidence while walking/running and interacting with other amputees.
Our certified practitioners will be on hand to provide you with the skills needed to increase your confidence and enhance your mobility.
Area of Focus:
- Gait mechanics
- Amputee specific exercises
- Stretches
- Amputee support group and peer to peer visitor
- Being a resource for all amputees
Future dates will be March 11, May 1, July 8, Sept 9. The clinic will be every other month on the second Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM at our Amherst location. Date and location subject to change.

Join your Leimkuehler O-P team and Amputee Advocates on October 16th at 5:30 pm for our monthly amputee advocate, athletes, and support group. All amputees and their family members are welcome!
We strive to empower those affected by limb loss and amputation through our community, education, and athletics. Learn and meet other like-minded people at our Amherst office. The Leimkuehler O-P team will be on hand for individualized questions, teaching, training, and adjustments to get you moving!
